Gartenhof Küsters GmbH in Neuss, Germany (the parent company of Greenlink Küsters in Beijing) was founded in 1964 by Werner and Margaret Küsters as a 'one lawnmower & two employee enterprise'. In its 40 years of existence, Gartenhof Küsters GmbH has evolved from strictly gardening company to one of the best renowned and biggest landscape construction business in Germany and Europe offering state-of-the-art Designs and Landscape Engineering.

With a highly skilled staff of 85 today in the German Headquarter, including Landscape Architects, Landscape Technicians, Landscape Masters, certified Landscape Engineers and others, The biggest share of clients are main contractors, whom we partner for many years and countless projects, as a reliable, efficient and skilful Landscape Contractor.

Werner Küsters, the founder of Gartenhof, always envisioned new trends. Some 30 years ago the GreenRoof Business started its career in Germany, from where it spread in the 80's to other European countries, in the 90's to overseas, USA and Japan. Due to this early engagement Werner and a handful of his colleagues are nowadays known as “Green-Roof-Pioneers”. Werner significantly influenced the technology, standards and codes in Germany (FLL-Guidelines for GreenRoof). Now this concept of advanced GreenRoof Technology has reached China with his son Peter Küsters.

In 1999 Gartenhof Küsters carried out the first project in China. Gartenhof Küsters has been contracted by the German Government was nominated as the project manager. He spent some months in China to finish his work. The German Garden was the most successful in Kunming winning by far the most awards from the Chinese and international juries.

This first successful project in China encouraged Peter to look for more business in China. Peter, Landscape Technician and experienced project manager got in touch with GreenRoofs at an age of 16 when he listened to his father's seminars. At his early 20's Peter developed from a landscape engineer to a foreman, supervisor and project manager, becoming his father's right hand.

In 2001 Peter came back to China, to Beijing and Hong Kong as consultant for GreenRoofs Projects where he carried out some projects before he finally settled down in Beijing in 2002 as a free lance consultant for landscape design and landscape engineering focusing on GreenRoofs. After that Peter founded a Representative Office together with another Green oof Supplier to import more products from Germany. Due to the fast development of the GreenRoof market in China, Peter soon decided to start the production of GreenRoof Systems in China in order to serve the quick growing number of clients and projects better.

Since spring 2005 Greenlink Küsters also serves the growing market of Beijing to design and build 'House-Gardens', the private gardens of House Owners. Here Greenlink Küsters follows the tradition of the Gartenhof Küsters in Germany, who always paid special attention and put all skills and experience of the large projects into the relatively small projects of private gardens.
